Linear attribution divides a conversion's value evenly across all touchpoints within the lookback window. Four touches before a $400 sale: each gets $100.
It's useful for long journeys with many touches, where no single interaction clearly did the work, and as a neutral counterweight to first- and last-click views. Because every touch counts, channels that appear often in journeys (email, retargeting) get more total credit than in single-touch models.
